Agro-Ecology
Northwest is a group of technical consultants and researchers
who collaborate on sustainable agriculture projects in the
public interest.
Our
focus provides environmentally sound solutions for farmers and other landholders
via whole systems design in the management of: soil, plants, livestock, integrated
pest management, water harvesting and buffer zone enhancement. AENW
is involved with education and research opportunities in agro-ecology. We
are certifying agents for the Eco-labeling organizations Salmon Safe and LIVE.
We

Hobbs Farm and Landscape Design Since 1982, her business,
Cascadia Landscape Design, has specialized in whole systems design with a focus
on soil building, water harvesting, and appropriate plant selection. She has written
A Guide to Multi-Functional Hedgerows for Oregon State University Extension Service.
She holds a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. John
Nuemeister Livestock and Forage John raises sheep on his farm
in Junction city, Oregon. He has a B.S. in Animal Sciences and an M.S. in Crop
Science from Oregon State University. He has worked in fields of pesticide research
and agricultural lending. He currently works as a field representative in an agricultural
company. Dan
Stein Integrated Pest Management Dan owned and operated Northwest
IPM, for nine years. A least toxic structural pest control and consulting company.
He is the author of the book Least Toxic Home Pest Control, a practical approach
to IPM. Dan has an M.S. degree in Agriculture and Plant Protection from Cal poly,
San Luis Obispo. Hans
Wittig Plant Pathology Hans has experience in sustainable
farming through his work on organic farms, as a certification inspector, and a
researcher at Oregon State University. He has an M.S. degree in Plant Pathology
from Oregon State University and worked for five years with OSU Extension Plant
Pathology evaluating disease management practices for fruits and berries. He is
currently a buyer for an organic baby food company. |
